Do you know, that Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common motor disability in childhood? According to the population-based studies from around the world report prevalence estimates of CP ranging from 1.5 to more than 4 per 1,000 live births or children of a defined age range. And about 1 in 323 children has been identified with CP according to estimates from Centres for disease control and prevention’s (CDC) Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network.

As we see, there are many people around us who when through cerebral palsy too. One of them is Navin Nair. Despite his physically limiting challenge he fought through his obstacles and use it as a stair to climb up to his success.

Zero to Hero – Lina (the elegant fighter)

Hey everyone, I am back. Do you know Schizophrenia is a brain disorder that distorts the way a person thinks, acts, expresses emotions, relates to others and perceives reality which affects  0.7% of Singapore’s population (Ministry of Health) as of 2010’s report?

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by abnormal social behavior and failure to understand what is real. There are five subtypes of schizophrenia: paranoid schizophrenia, disorganized schizophrenia, catatonic schizophrenia, undifferentiated schizophrenia, and residual schizophrenia which has cognitive symptoms like trouble focusing or paying attention, and difficulty remembering.

Hmm, this is troubling.

Zero To Hero – Sarah (The Wonder-Woman)

We have seen stories of zero to a hero, from 3 heroes previously. This time it is a story from a “heroin”, a Wonder-Woman named Sarah(not her first name), who fought her way through life to where she is now, success. Awesome eh, now let’s look at her interesting journey.

*She does not want to reveal her identity for personal reasons hence there is no photo of her but I believe her story will inspire you to do better in life & most contents were done by her*

 

She was born with a deformity of the left arm. It’s a congenital birth defect where her left arm stops just below her elbow. Her parents did not know she had such a defect till the day she was born.

 

P.S. Just for your knowledge, in the late 70s ultrasound was not yet a familiar thing.

But not only Jackie, there are also others who when through physical challenges who are on the road of success. Like Ganesan aka Gani, the artist! (it was suppose to be Thiru, but because of some complications he is facing he will be portrayed in the following one).
